Dr. Debra Shelton is a distinguished nurse educator, consultant, and healthcare leader based in Bossier City, Louisiana. With a career spanning decades in nursing practice, education, and leadership, she has made significant contributions to advancing the nursing profession at both the state and national levels.
Dr. Shelton has served as a nurse educator with expertise across a broad range of specialties, including geriatrics, oncology, holistic nursing, medical‑surgical care, and professional development. Her academic involvement has included teaching and mentorship roles associated with nursing programs in Louisiana, where she has been recognized for her commitment to excellence in education.
Throughout her career, Dr. Shelton has received numerous honors acknowledging her impact on nursing education and practice. These include the Nightingale Award Nurse of the Year (2005) from the Louisiana Nursing Foundation and the Louisiana State Nurses Association, as well as multiple Excellence in Education and Teaching Awards.
